Matt Swaim, Ken Hensley, and Kenny Burchard each came from parts of the Evangelical world where faith in Jesus was strong, and love of the Bible ran deep, but knowledge of Church history wasn’t particularly robust.

And none of them gave much thought at all to Clement of Rome, who would have known the apostles and had a Christian leadership role in Rome in the era immediately following the martyrdoms of Peter and Paul.

So who was he?
