Because Taylor Kemp found success at soccer at an early age, his opportunities to play and travel dominated his weekends, and he stopped going to Mass altogether. It wasn’t until after playing professional soccer for DC United for a number of years before he began to understand the hole that had been left in his life by replacing God with sports.
He explains how he came to understand the importance of setting Sunday apart to be truly treated as the Lord’s Day, and what the Catholic Church means by describing Sunday Mass attendance as an “obligation.”
