The Wisdom of Catholic Moral Teaching – Dr. Francis Beckwith
Raised Catholic, Dr. Francis Beckwith drifted away from the Catholic Church and toward Evangelical Christianity in his teenage years. And while he still held to many aspects of Catholic moral teaching, he began to be troubled by the way that a sola Scriptura approach to morality seemed to be either selective or incomplete. He came to understand that without the proper philosophical and historically sound method for approaching the Scriptures, they could be manipulated to say any number of things, based on the prejudices and preferences of the interpreter.
Dr. Beckwith’s latest book is Never Doubt Thomas: The Catholic Aquinas as Evangelical and Protestant.
