The Transforming Power of the Eucharist – John Knutsen

After John Knutsen left the Catholic Church and became an atheist, he had a cynical view of Catholic devotion to the Eucharist. Why would people waste their time sitting in a chapel adoring a piece of bread? But as John felt himself drawn back to faith, he found a healing power in the Eucharist that surprised him. There was a reality to Christ’s presence in the Blessed Sacrament that spoke to him at a deep level, and led him back to the practice of his Catholic faith.
