Mary’s Relationship With the Holy Spirit
As she was preparing for her confirmation on Pentecost, Sister Maria Theotokos decided to do a Marian pilgrimage to Lourdes. It was there, praying in an adoration chapel, that she was struck by a painting of the Upper Room. It suddenly dawned on her, even though she’d read the passage a thousand times, that Mary was present at Pentecost, just as she’d been present when the Holy Spirit descended at the incarnation. It opened up her eyes to a whole new understanding of Mary’s role in salvation history.
