As an Evangelical, Becky Carter was part of a congregation where they encouraged members to have their babies dedicated — a ceremony where parents promised to raise their children in the faith. When she joined another congregation, they encouraged her to have her children baptized, but it wasn’t clear to her what they believed was accomplished by that.
