To help you kick off the first week of October, here’s our weekly digest of Catholic content for converts and the curious! Here are a few things that we’ve made available to our members over the last few days:

This week’s guest on The Journey Home was Mark Gamble, whose work took him all over the world, and gave him the opportunity to worship in all sorts of churches- except Catholic ones! When he finally visited one on a Good Friday… well, you’ll just have to watch to find out what happened.
Our October newsletter, packed with great content, including a new written conversion story, Br. Rex Anthony Norris’ notes from the hermitage, prayer requests for our members, and a message from Marcus released this week. If you’d like to subscribe, here’s the link.
For #ThrowbackThursday, we unearthed a 1998 Journey Home episode with Marilyn Grodi– that’s right, Marcus once interviewed his own wife about her journey into the Catholic Church!
And our CHNetwork Community answered the question: what do you remember about your first Confession?

Elsewhere, around the web…
Catholic News Agency reported on Dona Penha receiving her First Communion- at age 101!
For this week’s feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Journey Home alum Dr. Taylor Marshall wrote about the different approaches of St. Francis and Martin Luther in regard to reforming the Church.
Ascension Press announced its lineup of speakers for the next National Catholic Bible Conference- and there are lots of former Journey Home guests on the list!
A meeting between Anglicans and Catholics in Rome this week produced a joint declaration by Archbishop Justin Welby and Pope Francis. Journey Home alum Fr. Dwight Longenecker told us why we shouldn’t too excited about it.
And actor Mark Wahlberg recorded a video greeting to priests for the National Conference of Diocesan Vocation Directors.
