Skepticism, Reason and Faith – Pat Flynn
Pat Flynn grew up Catholic, but was quickly enamored with humorists like Mark Twain and H.L. Mencken, who led him to skepticism and eventually atheism as a scientific materialist. However, that worldview couldn’t satisfy his questions about morality, consciousness, and meaning in the universe. A deeper reflection on those concepts led him to Mortimer Adler and St. Thomas Aquinas, and eventually back to the Catholic Church he’d originally thought didn’t have answers for life’s biggest questions.
