Fr. Allan Phan’s father was an atheist, and his mother was a Buddhist, but they sent him to Catholic school in Nebraska, where he began to ask bigger questions about spirituality and the meaning of life. Despite some objections from loved ones, he made the journey home to the Catholic Faith, and discerned a vocation to the priesthood. And when he was diagnosed with cancer only a few months later, it began to spark more questions about faith within his own family.
