Tom Murphy – Catholic Revert, Former Evangelical

Tom Murphy was baptized Catholic, but his parents split when he was still a toddler, and he didn’t grow up going to Church.  However, he was always interested in questions of faith, and as a young man, developed a personal relationship with Jesus and became involved with an Evangelical community, where he began to engage in Bible studies and prayer groups. A voracious reader, the more Tom read, the more he found himself being drawn to the beauty and truth of Catholicism.

During the last leg of his journey to the Catholic Church, Tom became friends with Seth Paine, a fellow Evangelical who was also beginning to explore Catholicism. After Tom was confirmed himself, he ended up being Seth’s confirmation sponsor, and since Seth is a staff member at CHNetwork, he joins Tom for the second half of the program to share how the two of them talked through some of their questions about the Church together.
