Albert Holder: Former Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

January 8, 2012 One Comment
Albert Holder grew up as the son of a career missionary in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints (now the Community of Christ).  His faith was sincere and was his parents.  And yet, his father began  a journey of conversion which deeply affected Albert.  As a teen, Albert at first resisted the pull to the Catholic Church that his parents and siblings experienced.  But a chance course in poetry while Albert was in college opened up a new world for him.  His interest in medieval writing subsequently brought him to Franciscan University in Steubenville, PA where he would be immersed in Catholic thought and culture.  Albert never looked back as he joined his family in becoming Catholic.  He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in theology from Franciscan University, an S.T.L. in moral theology from the Angelicum in Rome, and a J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law.  Today Albert is a Managing Director with the Catholic financial planning organization, The Pelican Group.

Thank Mr. Holder for sharing your incredible journey of faithful courage. God bless your Dad! My entire life of 44 years of marriage has brought me in contact with the LDS because of my in-laws. I have had so much pressure, talks, attitudes of sadness for me because I have chosen to remain Catholic and am so happy and grateful to the Holy Spirit for being born into the Catholic Church, I could not even begin to explain for I do not want to be uncharitable in my voicing my experiences. All I know is that your journey has been inspiring. Thank You so very much!
