Kevin Lowry: Former Presbyterian

January 9, 1998 No Comments

Kevin grew up in a small town near Toronto, Canada, the son of a Presbyterian minister. He graduated from high school when he was sixteen. Full of exuberance and self-confidence, he believed he was ready for college. After reading about a unique school in Steubenville, Ohio, his dad thought the dynamic Christian environment might help him through his rebellious years. Three semesters later, his enthusiastic dedication to beer and billiards got him academically dismissed – kicked out of the Franciscan University of Steubenville. By God’s grace, Kevin was given a second chance to enroll at FUS. This time he excelled in his studies. When he finally took the required courses in theology, which he had long avoided, he was soon on the road home to the Catholic Church.
