Sarah Christmyer was a strong Christian her whole life, but disunity among various denominations bothered her. So many Christians of good will were praying to the Holy Spirit and studying the Scriptures, but coming to radically different conclusions on essential questions like Baptism and whether or not you could lose your salvation. When she discovered that the Catholic Church had a deposit of faith received by the apostles and handed on to their successors, Sarah was relieved; she could focus her efforts on discovering truth, rather than having to determine it.
