The Church as a Visible Reality – Seth Paine

As an Evangelical Christian, Seth Paine saw clearly the need for a personal relationship with Jesus, but wasn’t as sure as to why going to church was necessary, other than for fellowship, camaraderie and communal worship with fellow Christians. As he reflected on the numerous denominations throughout the world, all calling themselves Christian, it troubled him. He started to wonder if there was such a thing as “THE” Church, with leadership and a visible presence in the world, or if it was just a formless, undefinable group of people who all loved Jesus but disagreed on just about everything else. That search for the visible reality of the Body of Christ on earth led him to the Catholic Church.
