From her time as a pastor’s kid, through her experience as an overseas missionary, to the time she and her husband spent in ministry during his time as a Pentecostal pastor, MaryJo Burchard was always trying to understand the nuances and differences among Christian communities, and why they felt the need to separate themselves from one another.
Now as a Catholic, she shares how she sees differences, nuances, and varied emphases in Catholic parishes and even spiritual traditions, but the sacramental bonds that unite Catholics make it so that people with different personalities can all be part of the same worshipping family.
