What’s the difference between the roles of Protestant pastors and Catholic priests? There are many different understandings out there, but as a Christian Reformed minister, Dr. John Bergsma saw as his primary job the preaching of Scripture and the final say in administrative matters related to his congregation. As he gravitated toward Catholicism, however, he saw that the priesthood entailed those things, but also much more due to the sacramental nature of Catholic worship.
