As an Episcopal priest, Andrew Petiprin loved his ministry, but was also troubled by some of the ongoing controversies within his denomination. When he started to become interested in the Catholic Church, he knew he needed to take an honest assessment of that interest; he wanted to make sure he wasn’t just trying to escape the problems he was encountering in his experience of the Episcopal Church. Ultimately, for Andrew, it was a matter of becoming Catholic for the right reasons: to be someone who was running toward the beauty and truth of Catholicism, and not just running away from the things he was dissatisfied with in his previous denomination.
