Growing up Baptist in Canada, RJ Snell had a strong relationship with God, but the worship style he grew up with wasn’t necessarily marked by a lot of emotion. But by the time he became a student at Liberty University, he kept getting the impression that unless he had some strong emotional response to the music and prayers, he wasn’t really worshipping God. When he discovered the idea of liturgy, it all came together for him; here was a way to worship God that was objective and true, and not dependent on whether or not his emotions were stirred on a given Sunday.
