When Jeremy Rivera was serving a nondenominational congregation, he wanted to share Christ with as many people as possible, and grow his church’s membership. But it was frustrating to him that not only did he feel pressured to talk about evangelization in marketing terms, but also to talk about the survival of his congregation as though it were dependent upon the right staff makeup and business plan.
Jeremy shares how freeing it was for him to realize that there are other ways to think about not just what it means to be “successful” as a church, but also a better way to understand what the church *is* that can liberate us from the fear that it will succeed or die out based on our personal efforts and abilities.
