“We all went to Oxford as Episcopalians, and we left as Catholics.”

Brother Bonaventure Chapman”s background was in a number of denominations: Presbyterian, Church of Christ, Lutheran.  It was when he went to Oxford, England, to study for Anglican ministry, that all of his “protests” against the Catholic Church finally melted away, and he followed God’s call to religious life with the Dominicans.

Becoming an anglo-catholic brought me into enough of a catholic faith that I wanted the full measure and the Reformation came to a personal conclusion. So, yeah; studying where anglo-catholicism started will do that.
