As a refugee of post-war Germany, Fr. Jurgen came to America with his family in 1952 and was given shelter by an Episcopal priest in Massachusetts. Fr. Liias went on to become an Episcopal priest himself, and was fairly comfortable in his progressive theology until he had an encounter with the mystery of the cross that caused him to rethink everything he thought he knew about Jesus. He is now a Catholic priest of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter.
Fr. Liias has also been a guest on The Journey Home.
