In this episode Marcus and Steve talk about the unifying authority of St. Peter. Brought up Baptist, Steve was taught by his parents to love Jesus and the Bible. As he grew, the more he studied Scripture the more confused he became, because of the many contradictory teachings of committed Christians who relied on the Bible alone as their authority. In his late 30’s, Steve began to question the large number of Christian denominations, especially in light of Christ’s prayer for unity in St. John’s Gospel. Influenced by the conversion of an Evangelical pastor to Catholicism, after much soul searching and study, Steve and his family entered the Catholic Church in 1994. Steve it the author of “St. John’s Gospel: A Bible Study Guide and Commentary”. For more information about Steve, or to contact him, go to: www.catholic-convert.com.
