Msgr. Michael MaGee: Former Methodist

Msgr. Magee shares his journey from being raised a Methodist to his entry into the Catholic Church and eventual ordained to the priesthood. Msgr. Magee earned his Bachelor’s degree at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in 1984. In 1991, he was ordained to the priesthood for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. From 1998 to 2007, Msgr. Magee served as an Official at the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments in Rome. He has written several articles, including “From the Bible to the Lectionary of the Holy Mass: Norms and Principles”, “Receiving the Tradition: Three Windows into the Thought of Pope Benedict XVI on the Liturgy”, and “The Liturgical Translation of the Response et cum spiritu tuo [“And with your spirit”]”.  He has also given presentations on “Preparation for the New English Translation of the Roman Missal”.
