Mother Seraphina grew up going to Mass, but her family didn’t talk much about faith at home. Her catechesis in Catholic school was often mediocre, or worse; she remembers Planned Parenthood coming in to give a presentation to her health class. As a young adult, she drifted from faith to pursue a music career, but when she found out she could keep up her voice by singing in beautiful liturgies at Catholic churches, she started doing so, and it triggered a spiritual awakening. She is now the Mother Superior for the Franciscan Daughters of Mary, which runs a crisis pregnancy center for low-income families in Covington, Kentucky.
