Maija Fish – Former Evangelical Protestant

Maija Fish grew up in a family that had positive feelings toward Christianity, and she always had a hunger to know God, but didn’t feel equipped to explore that longing in a satisfying way. When some Christian friends from her high school were killed in a car accident, Maija began to take more seriously her own questions of faith, and eventually became a born-again Christian, on fire for her faith. However, the divisions among denominations deeply troubled her. At dental school in Marquette, she finally encountered Catholics who were authentic witnesses for Christ, and she began to see how her longing for union with God could find fulfillment in the Catholic Church.
