August 21, 2006 Conversion Stories, Methodist

Father Gregory grew up in an active and committed Methodist home. His life in South Carolina was completely rural and Protestant. In fifth grade, he saw a boy make the sign of the Cross. He was intrigued and when home and looked up the topic and then found an article about the Catholic Church in the encyclopedia. This planted a seed and would grow in time. While attending a Presbyterian college, he was challenged by a friend about the Methodist doctrine about the Eucharist. When he discovered that Methodists didn’t believe in the Real Presence in Holy Communion a turning point began in his life that would eventually lead him to the Church and the Catholic priesthood.
