Carlos Zamora was raised Catholic, and went to Mass and CCD classes, but didn’t pay a whole lot of attention. Growing up in Fort Worth during a particularly violent era, he got involved in gangs, drugs, and gansta rap from an early age. He began to be worried about his risky behavior, and eventually, convicted about how far it had taken him from God. After an initial conversion to Christ, he started performing Christian rap, but the anti-Catholicism he was experiencing in that scene caused him to dig into theology, and especially the Church Fathers, who helped lead him back to his Catholic faith.
Carlos now performs internationally with the Catholic hip hop collective FoundNation.
