Fr. Bryan Patterson: Former Lutheran

October 15, 2001 Conversion Stories, Lutheran

Father Patterson was reared in a nominally Christian family. As a teen he accepted Jesus. Through a friend he joined the Lutheran Church. He was received into full-communion with the Catholic Church as a young adult. Though gifted in the field of science he eventually soon discerned a vocation to the priesthood. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1998, after studying in New York and Rome. Aside from his parish ministry, Father also teaches Theology at St. John’s University. Father Patterson was unable to be at the EWTN studio for this episode because of post 9/11 security issues.
