Fr. James Dominic Brent, O.P. |
October 14, 2009 Deep in Scripture, Deep in Scripture 2009, Saint Paul

In this “Year for Priests,” Marcus asks guests to choose Scripture verses that have specifically inspired them to follow Jesus. Marcus welcomes Rev. Brother James Dominic Brent, O.P., a Dominican deacon (now priest) to discuss 1 Corinthians 2:1-5, the power of Christ, wisdom, argument, secularism, and agnosticism. In typical Dominican fashion, Br. James delves deep into the scholarship, context, language, and theology of the biblical text to open Paul’s message to the listener. The pair also discusses how our weaknesses portray the glory of God.

Br. James was a fallen away Catholic during college. Studying philosophy, Br. James left all Christianity behind for agnosticism and secularism. You can read more about his conversion here: Part 1 and Part 2.
