Marcus Grodi and Msgr. Steenson continue their discussion of St. Irenaeus of Lyons and his defense of orthodox Christianity against the Gnosticism of his day. St. Irenaeus again reminds his readers that it is important to contemplate the hidden things of God, but dangerous to speculate too heavily on those hidden things. Ultimately, the goal of that contemplation is not to solve the mystery of God, but rather to enter into it with humility.
