Steve Faulkner grew up as the son of Christian missionaries to what is now South Sudan in the 1950’s, and when his family moved back to the U.S., his dad became a Baptist pastor. When he went to Wheaton College and started a Bible study, he and his friends decided to try and re-create the early Church from scratch, based on Scripture, but ran into some major differences of opinion regarding Bible interpretation. When he began to study the early Church and saw that Catholicism was carrying forth in the present day all those things that were most important from the beginning, he knew he eventually had to become Catholic.
Steve is the author of a memoir tracing the path of French missionary Fr. Jacques Marquette, titled Waterwalk: A Passage of Ghosts.
