Dan Spencer was raised with a strong Catholic faith, and came from a family that valued the sacraments. However, when the liturgical changes of Vatican II came along, he became confused about the meaning of the Eucharist, and began to try to find other Christian communities that prioritized the Gospel, even accidentally founding a couple of new churches along the way. When someone from one of those communities asked Dan to take her to Mass, he did so – and being reintroduced to the Eucharist after a few years away gave him a completely new perspective on Jesus, the Bible, and the Catholic Church.
