“Obedience, which leads to righteousness,” Romans 6

Andy McNutt | June 2, 2010 Deep in Scripture, Deep in Scripture 2010

Marcus welcomes Andy McNutt to discuss the passages of Scripture that were most important to him in his faith journey. Marcus and Andy discuss issues like, What does it mean to “die to sin”? Is one “once saved, always saved”? Is salvation a process? Do the Sacraments convey grace or are they mere symbols?

Scripture verse: Romans 6  (also 1 John 3:8)

Andy was reared by two, wonderful, godly Protestants. They raised he and his brother in a Methodist congregation until he was about 8. Then they joined a Southern Baptist congregation. Andy began his walk with Christ as a Baptist as a 10-year-old. At 17, he committed himself to full-time Christian service. His passions for education, formation, and apologetics were the doorway used by the Holy Spirit to draw him to the Catholic Church.

“I am a Catholic dad, husband, and Bible nut….Previously, I spent several years ministering in Southern Baptist congregations before coming into full communion with the Catholic Church in 2002. I hold undergraduate and graduate education in Sacred Scripture, Theology, History, Evangelism, and Biblical Languages. While I no longer minister full-time, I do serve the Church as a lay evangelist, teaching, writing, and speaking as the Lord provides opportunity. If I can help you in any of these capacities, you may contact me here.”  (Text taken from Tactical Catholic.)
