John Johnson: Former American Baptist Minister

February 11, 2000 Baptist, Conversion Stories, Methodist

John was reared in a Methodist home. In college, a professor invited him to a Baptist retreat were he met Christ. About the same time he felt a call to the ministry, attended seminary and was ordained an American Baptist minister. After serving in several churches, it seemed that there was always some infighting over different interpretations of doctrine. In 1997, a friend invited him to a silent retreat at a Catholic retreat center. This began a journey that led John to full-communion with the Catholic Church.
