James Anderson – Former Episcopal Priest

Jim Anderson had faith growing up, but he was also drawn by 60’s counterculture. His search for meaning led him to seek spiritual truth, but it also led him to experiment with drugs, which nearly destroyed him as a young man. As he began to mature, his relationship with Jesus deepened, and he felt a call to ministry, eventually becoming an Episcopal priest. As his denomination began to shift on a number of what he thought were settled issues, it got James thinking about the very nature of Christian authority, and what Christ meant to do when he established a Church. Those questions would eventually lead him to leave his Episcopal ministry behind and become Catholic; but he found that the gifts and passions God had given him in his youth would find new and rewarding fulfillment as a Catholic hospital chaplain.
