Cary Dabney was raised in an observant Jehovah’s Witness family, even going door-to-door to spread his faith. However, when questions began to arise for him as a young man, they were discouraged. He was at first afraid to leave the Witnesses because of what they taught about the outside world, but he eventually dissociated himself from them when he joined the military and went to college. While pursuing a degree in theology, he came across St. Thomas Aquinas, who helped him come to an intellectual acceptance of Catholic teachings, and once that happened, he was given the grace to truly see Jesus in the mystery of the Eucharist.
