Dr. Scott Hahn of the St. Paul Center presents his former classmate Marcus Grodi with the Cardinal Newman Award at the 2025 Clergy Convert Conference.
*****
Recently, the Coming Home Network partnered with the St. Paul Center for Biblical Theology to host our first ever Clergy Convert Conference — a wonderful opportunity for our members who come from Protestant ministry backgrounds to meet with one another for prayer and fellowship, and to hear from others who served in Protestant ministry before becoming Catholic, including Dr. Scott Hahn, Dr. John Bergsma, Msgr. Jeffrey Steenson, and our founder, Marcus Grodi.
The success of the conference was among a number of exciting things that have been happening lately in our apostolate; last year, nearly a hundred current or former Protestant clergy contacted us for the first time looking for assistance and resources. This year, we’re on pace to hear from twice as many!
In the midst of all of this, we also released the first-ever edition of Opus Evangelistae, a a journal of mutual encouragement by and for Protestant clergy converts, available for free to all of our members who come from that background.
In addition, we recently updated our Clergy Support Page to make it easier for those from Protestant ministry backgrounds who are exploring the Catholic Faith to connect with our resources. Those include one-on-one pastoral care, regular online group meetings, and a curated library of videos and articles that speak directly to the experience of those who have served in Protestant ministry and are seeking a home in the Catholic Church.
Our apostolate was founded in 1993 by Marcus Grodi, a former Presbyterian pastor who heard God calling him into ministry as a young man; and when he heard that same voice calling him home to the Catholic Faith, he knew he and his family needed fellowship and support to make that journey.
More than 30 years later, the Coming Home Network remains faithful to that mission, as we continue to grow our thriving community of men and women from every background imaginable as they make the same journey that we have, following the call of Jesus into His Church.
