The latest from CHNetwork

Are you leading OCIA classes this year? We have free resources to assist you along the way!

This week’s episode of The Journey Home was a great conversation with Fr. Jerry Byrd about his path from Baptist roots to the Catholic priesthood.

We shared an article from Dr. Billy Kangas, a former Lutheran minister, who discussed how he came to fall in love with the Rosary.

Ahead of this weekend’s feast of Bl. Carlo Acutis, we looked at the story of his Hindu caretaker who was moved by Carlo’s witness to become a Catholic.

And on the latest Insights, Sr. Julia Darrenkamp, FSP, who grew up Protestant, shares how she came to think of the Rosary as Mary’s “family photo album.”

CONVERTS AND CONVERSION

A veteran screenwriter who worked on HBO’s The Wire shared how the rosary played into his return to the Catholic Faith.

The National Catholic Register also shared the story of an 80 year-old cowboy converted by the rosary.

Catholic News Agency noted that St. John Henry Newman’s October 9th feast day coincides not with his death, but with the date of his conversion.

APOLOGETICS PICKS OF THE WEEK

Kate Quiñones looked at the four Catholic religious sisters who recently had asteroids named after them for their pioneering work in astronomy.

And with the Dodgers/Padres series on the line this weekend, Christian Clifford reflected on the Catholic history of Los Angeles and San Diego.

A member who’s moving to a new area and wondering how that will affect their desire to become Catholic, another member whose conversion has been happening in the process of their recovery from addiction, and all our members who are learning new things and making new friends in OCIA — these are just a few of the people we are praying for and working with at The Coming Home Network. Please help us continue to support those on the journey by visiting chnetwork.org/donate today!

“Life passes, riches fly away, popularity is fickle, the senses decay, the world changes. One alone is true to us; One alone can be all things to us; One alone can supply our need… (l)et us then do our part, as He has done His, and much more.”

St. John Henry Newman
