For this week’s question, we’re going into a matter of both historical and theological significance, regarding a reference that comes up in Matthew 12, and other places in scripture referring to the brothers of Jesus: Did your Christian tradition deal with the question of whether or not Jesus had siblings?
Was there any thought regarding Joseph having children from another marriage, or Mary having other biological children after Jesus? How would your tradition have accounted for the relative silence of the Gospels and the historical record on this question?
