Brian & Barbara Lilley: A Revert and Convert From Canada

February 21, 2011 No Comments

Brian and Barbara Lilley, lifelong citizens of Canada, shared their journey of faith with Marcus.  Brian, a cradle Catholic, drifted away from his roots as he neared adulthood, but never officially left the Church.  Barbara grew up in the Church of Canada, however, like her husband, stopped attending Sunday services beginning in her later teens.  They married in 1998 and two years later gave birth to the first of four children.  Barbara and Brian moved to Montreal but later returned to Ottawa.  In the meantime, they began a quest for a church that felt comfortable – visiting both Catholic and Protestant congregations.  It was the event of September 11, 2001 that marked the beginning of their journey home to the Catholic Church.  In the spring of 2005, Barbara converted and Brian reverted to Catholicism; now disciples of Christ and followers of the teachings of the Church.  Today Brian serves as freelance journalist in politics.
