What is necessary for a person to be saved? It is a lasting concern that Bible-believing Christians around the world agree on so few things, but it is of greatest concern that Christians cannot agree on probably the most important issue: What must a person do to be saved?

What must a person believe or not believe? What must a person do or not do? Is faith alone, at the exclusion of a life of holiness, all that is necessary? Can a person lose their salvation after they have placed their faith in Jesus Christ? What about people who have never heard of Jesus or His Church: can they be saved? What is the relationship between grace, faith, works, justification, and sanctification—and who in the end has the authority to determine which of the thousands of opinions on any of this is eternally true—for millions of souls depend on this! If you died right now, how can you be certain that you can face God with “confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming” (1 Jn 2:28)? In this section, we hope to address these and more related issues.
