Well, we had our Rite of Acceptance last Sunday and we are so excited! The ceremony was so awesome. My wife Nora and I both received our crosses as part of the Rite of Acceptance ceremony and I have not taken mine of yet.

As we get closer to coming into full communion with God's Church, we have had a lot of time to reflect on what God has been doing through our RICA class.

This has been anything but easy going to say the least. There have been many challenges that have come our way and there have been times that we have just trown up our hands and been ready to give up, but this forum has been a the tool that God has used to keep us focused with our eyes only on Jesus. Anyone who is going through the RCIA process and you feel like you can't go on please read the following.

The enemy will through everything he can to get you to quit. He will attack your finances, your job, use your friends family and neighbors to do all that they can to stop you. The reason why it seems everything is going wrong since your started RCIA, is because Satan wants you to not know the fulness of God's awesome grace which is found in Jesus Church. Just remember, if you know God has called you to the Catholic Church and life starts to really get tough... you are in the right place! Hang in there and show the enemy that he is a liar and a whimp!

Keep going and be blessed.

Catholicdan.

That's a very helpful way of looking at the frequent struggles that folks have with RCIA: as the devil's "foil" to discourage us. I never thought of it in that way before, but I should have! We have a kind of running joke in our house that when something important is coming up, stuff will happen and we'll half-jokingly mock the devil, saying, "that old devil is up to his tricks again, so [whatever it is] must be important!"

I like to approach Satan in that fashion: a measure of respect for his power, but essentially a mocking derision and knowledge that God's power is greater and can always overcome a mere demented creature.
