I'm having a really hard time reading and participating now because of the forums. They are so ~s~l~o~w~ Whether I'm reading, or posting, jumping from one forum to another, it just takes a long time. And time is a precious commodity
I know nothing can (probably) be done about this, but I wanted to mention it in case other people are having problems, too. I'm pretty sure it's not my machine or connection cause I have no problems with other sites, even graphic heavy pages.
ETA -- I've dumped and emptied cookies/cache, etc. Still no help.
Ali
PS -- I was able to get my avatar changed though, anyone wanna take a guess (other than the obvious) you have to really know me to get it right! LOL

I'm having the same problems, Ali.
I have more free time than most people, probably; but even for me, it is a problem.
I wonder if that's why traffic has been so light here.

Have you run your "Disk Cleaner" or "Defragmentor" programs lately?

Okay, I'll go out on a limb - is it an animal? Is it a snake, with the crucifix over it? Like Christ defeating the serpent? I'm really way out here, huh?!

It's rather dark, but it looks like John Paul II's Shephard's Staff or Crozier or at least the cross portion of it. If it is, Pope Benedict also uses it in honor of JPII.

Ali, I found things slow yesterday, too. I think Rick was having some technical issues.
Your avatar looks like a crucifix laying over some rich purple fabric. Is it Easter-related? Triumph of the cross?

Is it the crucifix on your rosary?
And what is that in the background anyway?!

Cliff -- Actually two weeks ago my computer crashed big time. Like so major that I am just glad that I didn't have to buy a new computer. Once again proof to me that Dell costomer service totally rocks. So my computer is as clean as . . . as well . . . . . as clean as a new computer
On top of that my AVG security software runs a defrag weekly, and I run two ad/spyware detectors on alternate days. Just to be safe
Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Well you were right about the crucifix part
it looks like John Paul II's Shephard's Staff or Crozier or at least the cross portion of it.
Ohhh, you are close!
Your avatar looks like a crucifix laying over some rich purple fabric. Is it Easter-related? Triumph of the cross?
It is exactly the first part of your guess. Although I wish I were so high minded to have the last part
And what is that in the background anyway?!
Ok, ok, I'll give it up I'm sure I've posted here about my obsession . . . . uh, I mean extreme liking of band U2. Right? I know I have, cause I can't stop myself from going on and on about them My avatar is the rosary Pope John Paul II gave to Bono (lead singer of U2, duh!) when the two met at the Vatican. The Pope tried on Bono's sunglasses, I can post a picture of that, too, if you like.
He has worn it ever since. (I know, I know! I never said he was perfect. Just perfectly hot) Anyway, closeup of his rosary while he is wearing it, the purple is his shirt, and little bits of is chest hair
Hehehehehe. All in good fun! Thanks for you guesses. Now, do you feel like you know me a little better? And yes, my dh is fully aware of my other love.

Kermie has no chest hair, and he is quite sexy. He does, however, have the occasional wart.
We now return to our regular scheduled topic.

Careful Ali. You almost used the dreaded 3 letter word. Disguising it with a "y" may still get your threads sent to the locked box to do penance. You may have to get Mr. Bono to lobby for your defense.Last edited on Sat Mar 8th, 2008 03:37 pm by rbo4u2
