Genesis 18:23.
My, my. Was Abraham courageous or stupid?
How does one question God's motives?
I quest I'm not alone when it comes to this issue, for I must admit I have challenged God on occasion.

Ouch!

What I see in this account, Kid, is that God converses with Abraham as a parent might converse with a child.  Children frequently get upset with their parents' actions, not because they don't trust the parent, but because they do not understand the action.

I am comforted by the fact that the Lord allowed Abraham to speak to him this way.  It gives me the freedom to be honest in prayer, especially at those times when I am motivated to ask "Why?"

I wanted to go to Biblia Clerus and research this verse there, but the web site appears to be down this morning :-(
