I downloaded the pdf guide to reading the Bible and Catechism today.  I was wondering if I should just start at the beginning with Genesis or is there a group of you who are reading together and I could start where you are?  Maybe it would all make more sense to start at the beginning, I've never read it from beginning to end, just read passages as they applied to Bible study, daily readings, etc.  But if you are discussing your readings I would learn a lot from that way too.  Any thoughts?

There has not been an ongoing discussion of the readings, so feel free to start at the beginning.  The schedule sheet is made so that you can begin on the first of any month.

Thanks Rick, that is what I did.  I used to struggle with the Liturgy of the Hours, but it was so difficult and I never felt like I was doing it right.  I am going to do the CHN Bible and Catechism study and maybe tackle the Liturgy of Hours next year.  I know they're not the same thing and both have their own value.  I was being too ambitious!  This is more my speed for now.  God bless

Where do you download the PDF file?  New member here (first post) and I'm unfamiliar with the daily reading but tomorrow is the first of August and I'd like to start the month off right.
Many thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,

Welcome to the forum!   If you look down about 7 topics in this area you'll see a thread about downloading the PDF file started by Steve.  There is a link in the first post on that thread.

God bless.

Welcome to the Coming Home Network, Mark.  We're happy to have you here with us, and we look forward to reading your faith story when you're ready to share it with us.

You'll find the reading guide at http://www.chnetwork.org/journals/readguide04.pdf or you can go to http://www.chresources.com and buy a copy for about a dollar.

Thank you CajunRick for the guidance and resources.  I've downloaded the list and will share it with our Bible study group at work.
This is a great site and I'm glad to have it recommended to me.

Another newbie question... which forum is best to discuss Bible verse?  I'm interested in learning different points of view with regard to various passages; their meaning in the period, and the historical connecitions...

Thanks,

Mark

The Scripture forum.

If you're not sure, start a new topic anywhere and we'll move it to the proper forum.  Please don't post an off-topic message as a reply to any threads, as then we can't move them to where they belong.  When in doubt, just hit "New Topic" and we'll take care of the rest.
