Jenna 'Offers' Bush Family Ranch for Ellen DeGeneres' Wedding
Tuesday, May 27, 2008

Good thing Texas isn't about to allow that kind of a Texas-sized mistake.
LOS ANGELES — President Bush's newly married daughter, Jenna Hager, seemed to offer her family's Texas ranch to Ellen DeGeneres as a wedding location for DeGeneres to marry her longtime girlfriend, Portia de Rossi, according to a report by People magazine.
During an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" taped Thursday and expected to air next Wednesday, Hager showed off photo of her wedding.
DeGeneres, who earlier this week sparred with Republican John McCain on same-sex couples and marriage, reportedly said: "So, the ranch was a great place to get married – it looked like nobody could fly over and get pictures or bother you, really."
Hager agreed.
"So, can we borrow it for our wedding," DeGeneres asked. "Can we get the ranch?"
With her mother, Laura Bush, sitting by her side, Hager played along and said, "Sure."
DeGeneres recently announced she intended to marry de Rossi in California after the state's top court ruled last week against California's ban on gay marriage. Opponents of the ruling have asked for a delay until voters can have their say in November.
They didn't get it.
On the other hand Bush's daughter doesn't seem to, either but for entirely different reasons. And don't get me going on a First Lady who doesn't seem to "get it" either by appearing on that show. Nor does Bush's "successor:" the once "straight-talker" from Arizona. So much for "Midland Values" a guy promised to bring into the White House some eight years ago.

| It seems to me that I read someplace recently that the same sex issue is on the November ballot for Texas.

That shouldn't come as a surprise as one of the largest gay congregations, the Cathedral of Hope, a huge United Church of Christ resides outside Dallas. There are several very large gay churches in the Lone Star State. And we thought they were all macho cowboys.
Now we know they are a bunch of Midnight Cowboys with a bunch of broken backs.

I had read that recently. Scripture says the days will come when people will go for what 'tickles their fancy' - not the exact words of course - but well anyway, I guess some people are tickled fancy someplace.

civil partnerships are legal here in the UK and to be frank I have no problem with it. Don't all shout ! I would never attend and do not condone homosexuality but I am not going to judge thats someone elses job. I strongly object to it being called a marriage it isn't either in name or law.
If people want to stand up and comit publicly thats up to them. I do object to our countrys laws saying that Catholic adoption agencys must allow gay couple s to adopt or face prosecution.

It's not wrongly "judging" to simply point out (with love and compassion) that something is wrong, by the criteria of Christianity, many other world religions, and cultural norms in most societies throughout history (and, I would argue in this case, that the lifestyle is demonstrably dangerous to health as well). If we can never declare that something is a sin, then we can't even be consistent Christians.
This whole thing of accusing Christians of "judging" when we say sin is sin, is just one of the secular world's many methods of marginalizing us as intolerant kooks. But they're quite intolerant of us, aren't they? The game is to be tolerant of everyone except for the person who doesn't buy the premise that everything is to be tolerated and not "judged." Then an exception is made and everybody can be very intolerant to them. This is a classic example of liberal / secularist hypocrisy when they approach Christianity in such a fashion.

Wait'll they start having to deal with TEXAS SIZE DEEEE-VORCE SETTLEMENTS.
In a few years, perhaps we'll see a lot of these happily marrieds trying tp get unhitched in a New York second, just as the two lovecrows who said "i do," "i will" "whatever" up in MA: and they were the ones who started the whole mess!
Happy Trails to yoooooooooo Whatever happened to the Bible Belt when we need it for an ally?
