Reading this won't make anyone's morning any easier, but it pays to be informed, so perhaps we can raise hell to stop the Devil from using our taxes to really suit his purposes in ways far deeper than anything we can think of in other areas.
In Michelle Malkin's 6/4/08, syndicated column "Planned Parenthood's Obscene Profits" (Townhall.com, 6/4/08), Planned Parenthood gets a good grilling over.
"In April, the annual report for Planned Parenthood Federation of America revealed that the abortion giant had a total income of $1.02 billion -- with reported profits of nearly $115 million. Taxpayers kick in more than $336 million worth of government grants and contracts at both the state and federal levels. That's a third of Planned Parenthood's budget."
"And what market-distorting results do we get for those government incentives? In 2006 alone: 289,750 abortions."
"Oil execs, tobacco execs, banking execs, pharmaceutical company execs and baseball players have all been hauled up before Congress for highly publicized whippings by crusading lawmakers. But the executives of Planned Parenthood have escaped government scrutiny and public accountability for their predatory behavior, dangerous medical practices, deception and deadly windfall."
It makes NO DIFFERENCE what party's in control of the Legislative branch; it the honchos treat pro-lifers like half or unwanted relatives at the family reunion, they'll never get to control the investigative committees necessary to drag some of the most obscene special interests just as big oil, tobacco and other convenient bad boys before the kleiglights of the daily inquisitions conducted by house and senatorial committees (and covered by CSPAN.)
We've GOT to get back in the action, stay in it till we get a working majority that'll also be a lasting majority. (But, let's make sure it's a WORKING majority first.) Otherwise it's more of the same old same old Malkin's putting under her flashlight.
