No doubt many of us have read reams upon reams of great and not-so-great (albeit some of them well-intentioned) articles on behalf of the Pro-Life Movement. Guys, you'll love this piece by Mike S. Adams, a regular columnist for Townhall.com.

In it it, Adams rips right through Sam Harris' self-serving hogwash about Christians, abortion and genocides, past and present. Harris' book contains a lot of hogwash on other subjects as well. But on abortion, he's really standing on a pile high of his own making as Adams so expertly demonstrates.

Tolle legge and see for yourself from a few portions quoted from this excellent column earlier this morning. (Please forgive the fancy footwork in separating my quotes from Adams' since I'm not using my regular PC.)

"Fourth Letter to a Secular Nation
By Mike S. Adams Tuesday, June 03, 2008

"One of the toughest things about reading Sam Harris’ Letter to a Christian Nation is deciding when he is expressing total ignorance as opposed to total dishonesty. When he accuses Christians of spending more energy “opposing abortion than fighting genocide” I lean towards the latter explanation."

"Informed readers know that the distinction between abortion and genocide is blurred by the fact that 512 out of 1000 black pregnancies ends in abortion. It is also blurred by the fact that 37% of all abortions are of black babies though blacks comprise only 12% of the population. Christians are more likely than atheists to oppose abortion. This is because we have always been more outspoken against racism than our atheist counterparts."

(SPB) Would somebody stick this under the junior Senator from Illinois' nose, (and while they're at it, put one under that of his Catholic senior colleague?)

"It is also clearly dishonest for Sam Harris to say that Christians “are more concerned about human embryos than about the life-saving promise of stem cell research.” I have never met a Christian who opposed stem cell research. Every Christian I know supports adult stem cell research because it has produced 73 clinically proven applications – many of which are outright cures of known diseases. But we oppose embryonic stem cell research because it has never produced a cure of any sort and does not appear to be on the brink of doing so."

(SPB) It's more than "clearly dishonest," and it's obvious Adams is doing his best in holding back his best charges for another moment. Harris' contentions are worse than "clearly dishonest" to anyone with a pair of eyes, an informed conscience and reasonable understanding of this issue. Harris is simply too clever by a half, but oh is he ever effective. When you want to destroy life-crippling diseases, you naturally want to have the largest amount of usable stem cells possible, and wouldn't this naturally mean the inclusion of even embryonic stem cells? Why, to an otherwise "rational" society, this isn't just a plausible argument, but a morally plausible argument. And, who'd dare to assault such reasoning.

(SPB) Perhaps those ever obstinate, obdurate and stiff-necked followers of that itinerant Jewish Rabbi, who when offered all the powers of the world by Satan in the desert told the Evil One to pound sand. Two thousand years later, we're still following that Rabbi's example and the world is none the worse, despite what our ever so suavely speaking and educated self-designated "better informeds" making their way from one chain book store to another with a spot on C-Span in between--have tried to ever so valiantly to "educate" society about how "rational" they are and cruelly irrational we are. My sarcasm isn't entirely a product of my own thinking; not by a mile. And if we join in snickering at it and take a moment of levity at the Devil's expense, we'd best not laugh for long. That's because the Devil and his literary advocates, agents, and other well-paid/"advanced" provacateurs are getting out there first thus enabling them to control the playing field.

(SPB)This is why I'm so glad to see this column by Adams so early and I couldn't wait to pass it along in case one of you might be engaged in a debate. You just may never know it, but perhaps what you learn, download, and share from Adams' column might not only change the tone of that conversation, debate or formal argument (leave it at the formal stage, no sense trying to argue pigs into wearing deodorant)--all of these valid encounters might also save a life. One solitary life. And you can't imagine what that could do for a world so desperately seeking more light.

(SPB) I almost decided against cutting my post with this quoted portion, especially for any Forum members who are artists and crafters. It's simply too outrageous to even think about. But playing like ostriches will also leave us open to valid charges that we, too, get so caught up in our artsy/fartsy crowd and pursuits that we ignore the deliberate ugliness around us. Even ugliness at its deepest and basest level perpetrated in the name of "art."

"Just a few weeks ago, the nation was shocked over reports that a Yale University student had intentionally impregnated herself and induced abortions on several occasions. Specifically, it was asserted that she did so in order to use the blood of the aborted fetuses as part of a display of 'art.'"

"Is it any less depraved to intentionally create and kill life to order to obtain research monies? It is difficult to trust that their motives are humane given their failure to produce anything of use to the medical profession."

(SPB) Yet, it's an everyday occurance. Just ask a lot of clerical staff on universities who can pass this information along without fear of INSTANT termination of employment,"with prejudice."

(SPB) Go to this link, save/download, print, copy and pass it along. It's one of the best arsenals you will have come across in a long time. And go confidently with God today!
