For those who have never seen a traditional Latin High Mass, this is a video presentation of the Easter mass from 1941, at Our Lady of Sorrows church in Chicago, narrated by (then) Msgr. Fulton Sheen. His commentary in English was for the viewing audience and was not heard by the congregation.
And finally, this is a traditional Latin low mass (not chanted) recorded at St. Patrick church in Omaha, Nebraska. It is a recent film, but the date was not given. I assume it is using the 1962 missal, but I can't say for sure.
Rick, I sat through all of the first one, from 1941 and I would really like a copy of it, as well as the others. I'm not high-tech! Can these be down- loaded to a DVD? Is it legal? Wow, 1941, before even I was born and I've been around a long time. I've recently found a new respect for Bishop Sheen. I think in the South in the 50's and early 60's he was probably the butt of a few jokes, because people wouldn't have listened closely to what he was saying but would have made fun of his appearance. I was a child and have the faintest recollection of seeing him at times on TV. Now I see what an impact he made as a speaker. I also enjoy the old black and white episodes from Fr. Peyton, originator of the phrase "The family who prays together stays together." Those were prophetic words weren't they? The Latin Mass is so beautiful, but I understood what they were doing. A couple of weeks ago I attended the Spanish Mass at our church because I didn't make it to the 11:00. I didn't understand a word but knew exactly what they were doing! It was great. That's another thing I love about the Catholic Church, the diversity. I know, I'm getting off topic.

It's rather complicated to explain, and involves editing URL's into flash-embedded objects. It is not an easy process. If you're enough of a computer geek to understand what I just wrote, PM me and I'll explain it.
I ain't. But I'll ask my son if he is. It's not a big deal, but I did enjoy watching it and it's the kind of thing I'd go back to from time to time. It may be available somewhere else. Thanks Beachmoss!
