Another former Baptist who I developed a correspondence with during my "conversion", Andrew McNutt, is going to be on "The Journey Home" on March 10. Since we've never gotten to meet, the family and I are gonna drive down and spend some time at EWTN (something I have been intending to do anyway) and be there when they shoot the show. We're excited!

Andy is a great guy with a great story who's trying to stay busy about the Father's work. If you tune in you will be inspired, I'm sure. He was an invaluable help to me as I started investigating the Church.

You can find out more about him and what he's up to at http://catholicdestination.com/community/andymcnutt/

Pax.

How exciting!  I hope and pray that someday I can visit EWTN.  When you come back, share your trip with us!

It's a shame we haven't made it down there already. We only live around 80 miles away. We've been to the Shrine several times in Hanceville, but this is our first time to visit EWTN.

Be sure to watch this Monday. Like I said, I think Andy will be a blessing to y'all.

Hi everyone.  I just saw this a few minutes ago.   I guess Marcus is ill so the interview with Andy McNutt was postponed. :crying2: I'm sure we'll see something soon.  Pray for Marcus.:praying:

“The Journey Home” - Delayed
March 10th, 2008 by andymcnutt

Morning, everybody.  My appearance tonight on "The Journey Home" with Marcus Grodi on EWTN has been cancelled.  I received the call last night from Jim Anderson of the Coming Home Network, that Marcus was ill and would not be able to make the taping today.  He also said that I would be rescheduled sometime soon.  Check back here for updates.  As soon as I'm rescheduled, you'll see the new information here.

Thanks for your prayers.  Pray now for Marcus that he'll get better soon.

The trip wasn't a total waste (yes-I was already in Birmingham when I learned of the cancellation).  I had my good friend Larry with me to keep me awake and share good conversation.

Back to work I go.

Oh, sorry that you all had to cancel your "Andy on EWTN" parties.  Just take the banners and streamers down and save them for the next time.

Yeah, we found that out after we were aready in Birmingham. It seems Marcus was getting over a case of the flu. Glad to read in the other thread that he seems to have gotten over it.

But, we did get to attend Mass, adoration and have a nice tour of the studios. It was a really nice trip.

My wife posted a few pictures here: http://beepboop.livejournal.com/1092592.html

It looks like Andy's been rescheduled for April 14, so we'll probably go back down for that.

Fr. Pacwa in a Stetson?  Now I've seen it all.  I knew he was from Texas but just hadn't pictured him in a cowboy hat.  Next thing you'll tell me is that he packs a pair of six guns and wears spurs.  :roflol:

Actually, I think he's from Chicago, which makes it even funnier. I don't know many Polish cowboy Jesuits from Chicago. I think he's been in Alabama too long.

Bro. John Paul, our tour guide, dared our 11 year-old son to call him "Father Cowboy." He did and Father Mitch got a kick out of that.

Ooops.  You're right.  However, I do know he has spent a lot of time in the Lone Star State.  I guess he's a cowboy wanna be.  "Oh I wanna be a rhinestone cowboy.........................."

April 14 is the date for my appearance.  I spoke with Jim Anderson last week and we settled everything.  Don't know if I'm driving this time or not.  We'll wait and see.

Looking forward to being on the show.

Cool, we'll most likely see you down there on the 16th, then.

Hope you and yours are having a blessed Triduum.

That's very unfortunate Jason.  Maybe this Summer we can coordinate a visit.  You know, the Sisters offer lodging for pilgrims at the Shrine of the Blessed Sacrament in Hanceville.

Peace!

I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Andy McNutt on the Journey Home program Monday night.  He is well spoken and grounded in the early church fathers.  He comes from the same background I do, so everything he said made perfect sense in regard to his conversion and how he found the catholic church.  Well done!

Hey, y'all.  Andy McNutt here.  Just wanted to say thanks for the prayers and the encouraging words.  I had a lot of fun doing the show.

Irenic:  dude, you made it through the phone censors.  amazing.  you couldn't see me off camera but i laughed out loud when i heard you.  i knew it was you, man.  totally awesome!

I'd really like to come back to EWTN.  That was so much fun.  I wonder if any other shows could use me?

They could always pitch my idea for an EWTN original sitcom
"Everybody Loves Raymond Arroyo"

Peace, all.  I really appreciate the prayers.

We love it when TJH guests make their way to the forum, and even more when forum members make it to TJH.  Maybe one day Marcus will decide to have a "cradle Catholic" on the program, and I'll have a chance!  :D

And in light of your appearance on TJH, we'll forgive you for living in Tennessee.

I always thought that Kermit the Frog was from a Georgia swamp.  Oh well.

Some day we'll find it, the rainbow connection.

I don't even know what that song means.

You know, Rick, it would be neat for cradle Catholics to have their own show.  There was one caller Monday who mentioned seeing a lack of enthusiasm among Catholics when compared to Protestants.  I know loads of cradle Catholics who are on fire for Jesus.  More of those Catholics need to get "out there" and stir the pot.

He is to be commended for having the good sense to live in Tennessee.  He is to be congratulated for having the good fortune to live in Tennessee.  :applause:roflmho:

Seriously, I enjoyed your story on the JH.  Thanks for sharing it and welcome home!  Do you mind telling us where in TN?  East, Middle or West?

Welcome to tonight's episode of Stayed Home where our host, Cajun Rick, interviews cradle Catholics who never dipped their foot in the Tiber.  Stay with us as they discuss how they found the Truth in their Faith and remained close to the church Christ founded...:roflol:

Hmmm, maybe we could evangelize Catholics considering leaving the Faith? :)

Kermie is a Cajun Chorus Frog, a recently identified species specifically known for singing to fiddle and Cajun Zydeco music on Saturday nights.

"The lover, the dreamer, and me."  It means Kermie is Cajun.

Maybe one day Marcus and EWTN will recognize that cradle Catholics need to "Journey Home" too, and awaken their curiosity in their faith.  It is incredible to know that I have been a Catholic now for almost 57 years, but I feel that I have been a Christian for about 25 years.  I needed a "Journey Home" too.  I had to learn o accept Jesus as my personal Savior, to be washed in the Blood of the Lamb, and it was our former Protestant brothers and sisters who led me there.  Thank God!  I am still not where I believe I need to be, and I remain awestruck by the faith of many on this forum, but I am struggling to catch up.  I have the Church down pat; it is the faith that I am still working on.
